Objective: Recreate a Haute Couture gown using only cardboard, brown paper, glue, and other raw materials. Featured at Oakridge Centre in April 2019.
I chose to recreate one of filipino designer, Michael Cinco’s, haute couture gowns from his Impalpable Dream of Sainte-Chapelle collection from Autumn-Winter 2015. I used a medium weight paper and reinforced it with tissue paper to achieve the same stiff structure as the original dress and used a hot glue gun and white paint to precisely recreate the bold embroidery on the torso and how starkly it contrasts with the dark dress.
